This large
and unusual vase was made by the Whitefriars glass works.
It measures 8.5"
high by 6.5" across the rim and is in a lovely smokey-brown colour. We can
find no reference to it's shape or colour in either of our Whitefriars 'bibles', but there is a bowl with the same horizontal ribbed design. It would seem
to be related to the ribbon vases of the 1920s & 30s, but this
one is likely to be later - c1940s.
We can't find any mention of a designer,
so if you can help at all, please get in touch.
Condition is excellent, with minor scatches to the base, consistent with normal wear and tear.
